I don’t have any inside information, but my traffic spiked today—mostly related to search queries on “bcm rice merger” and originating from BCM. It could be nothing, but I haven’t seen much traffic to this blog lately related to the merger.

Contrary to popular belief, the last rule of BioCamp isn’t:
If this is your first BioCamp, you have to present.
We recognize that not everybody wants to get up in front of a crowd of people and start talking. That said, the format of BioCamp doesn’t work unless a non-trivial fraction of attendees volunteer to present something.

Wow!  This morning’s Houston Chronicle announces that Texas Children’s Hospital has joined the merger talks between Baylor College of Medicine and Rice University. Admittedly, I didn’t see that coming. I knew Leebron was serious when he said he didn’t want to run a hospital, so I was expecting them to sell it off.
